Hotel Orahovac

The Bay of Kotor is always a demanding place to build: it is a UNESCO-protected area and its topography limits spatial freedom. Orahovac, like most Boka villages, is a small settlement stretched along the shore.

The hotel sits right on the coast, below the hill and separated from the sea by a road. It continues the texture of the hill, stepping down to meet the ground. Each step and plane has its own material: dense karst stone masonry first, more refined stonework second, and finally only the tone of the karst stone.

Landscaping follows the terraced form, just as vegetation does on the surrounding rocks and hills.
